Quebec -

Magdalen Islands

Bring out your bike and discover one of the most beautiful destination of East Canada : the Magdalen Islands. The moment the visitor sets foot on the islands, the impact is immediate and complete. The scenery is made of islands and dunes merging, then separating and stretching as far as the eye can see, over the water.  The islands appear as a miniature country, vibrant with the country green of the valleys, the gold of the long sandy beaches, the red of the carved cliffs and the multitude shades of green and blue of the ever-present sea and lagoons, tinted to the colors of the sky and the sea wildlife.

The climate is another significant difference. The maritime climate brings milder winters and cooler summers which make the Magdalens the region in Quebec with the shortest frost period. It is not rare to see the mild temperature of summer stretching late into September.
